I was trying to paint a picture today, but seems the color i was using was just a pigment of my imagination...

Dali, by being dali, was in himself a revolution of one man, a tsunami of
pure inhibited strangeness and peculiar mannerism.  Dali created himself in his own image.

Salvador Dali - Moustache Maestoso

When asked by a journalist if he takes any drugs (a relatively understandable question considering the work, the man, the persona and the lifestyle) Dali looked him straight in the eyes, and in this oh so familiar Dali voice said : Dali iiiiiiiiiiiis drugs!

What a whackjob. We need more of those. The magician rolled up with the fool, with one hand pointing the moustache ends and with the other one painting worlds of wonder and delirious beauty. (and all that while the black cat is suspended in the air)

I don’t really like dali's paintings.
But I truly love what is standing behind them, what they are standing for, and what effect they had on our lives as we know it today. It is not a matter of taste, and you don’t need to be a big scholar to understand the magnitude of Dali and his colleagues on the development of the creative process all over the world. Suddenly the surreal or the unreal became a valid option and not just a curiosity .

Dali, by being dali was in himself a revolution of one man, a tsunami of pure inhibited strangeness and peculiar mannerism.
Dali created himself in his own image. A couple more notches on the crazy dial but still it was just manifestation of what he already had in him, and what we now realize is inside each and every one of us.
And that was part of the beauty of it all, the show, the moustache, the part he played in his own life, writing himself in every scene like the mad hatter, but without a hat, and much madder.

Dali created himself in the same obsessive attention to details he showed in his paintings (the famous wasp for example) and the masterpiece he managed to bring to life was not less important than his brush on canvas work

In fact, I am quite sure when you think dali the first thing that will pop into your head is the moustache. Magnificent , dancing, statuesque, moldable moustache.

And even confronted with one of his greater known pieces, the one with the melting clocks for example , people would still point to the moustache if you ask whether they know dali.
What can I tell you. Did you SEE that moustache? It IS magnificent.
