Music is nature's language. What it is telling you is to shut up for once and listen.

As I was a fledgling guitar player , what I witnessed was no less than a miracle. Percussions, a bass, a guitar, and a piano part. All played simultaneously on one beautiful Gibson three quarters L5

You cant sell news stories that have data and cautious predictions. Where is the panic? Where is the impending doom? C'mon people , give me something to work with here…

..and as I was a yuppy marketing and advertising executive for the better part
of a decade, I am not really impressed with stories of selling your soul to the devil...

Tuck & Patti - Fingerpicking Good

Music cassettes. Remember those? I had three of tuck & Patti.I Took them with me wherever I go. I was young (as you can imagine from the cassette reference), I was on the move, and these cassettes were an asset. A little smart culture with a jazzy feel, a great soothing voice that always inspire me, and the songs were just schmaltzy enough to get you laid. What more does a guy in his late teen need in life?

Performing with Patti is like no other experience I have had, because it is so intense.
The closest thing I've experienced is race car video games, when you keep the accelerator floored and life comes at you faster than you can possibly deal with, except that crashing and burning is not an acceptable option.

It is relentlessly this way for an hour and a half"

But the truth is I was in complete awe. As I was a fledgling guitar player , what I witnessed was no less than a miracle. Percussions, a bass, a guitar, and a piano part. All played simultaneously on one beautiful Gibson three quarters L5 (yes, at the time I was still concerned with equipment and models and specs…thank god that passed.)

And that was what caught my heart. Not the singing, which is quite brilliant I have to say, with a wide range and a great feel to it. Not the melodies or even the solos. It was the percussion part and the bass lines that tickled my imagination.

when we are playing I am responding to sounds I hear Patti make, with the verbal side of my brain turned off."

My whole journey into delta blues players and their contemporaries was a reductionist pragmatic search. What maximum effect can you get with one acoustic guitar. And the bluesmen did just that, they stretched, they pulled, they thumbed basses, slapped silly lead lines and generally were very efficient in using every part of the guitar. Like an Eskimo hunter. No piece is left unused.

And then this kid came. And he was just a kid back then. And did the same thing, but more elegant, more elaborate, more harmonic. Oh, and he added one more additional part. And did I mention he added the percussion part too already?

the music should have a positive message that speaks from our hearts, and all business decisions should keep this in mind."

When I was younger I was a bit ashamed that this is the kind of music that 'does it too me' as it does seem very tame and not the usual exciting bouncy or distorted things young people should listen too, but maybe this is why I appreciate it so. They don’t yell. They font jump. They don’t "break the boundaries" of music or make extravaganza out of their show. They just play soft, very beautiful , quiet songs. Small songs whispered slowly with a guitar decoration. Restrained, reserved, precise, intriguing. interesting.

Twenty one years since I got my first tuck & Patti cassette and I still smile whenever I hear songs like 'love is the key'. It didn’t lose anything through the years..Well. One thing it lost.
It doesn’t help me 'score' anymore. But I am married now, happily I must add as my wife reminds me all the time.

recording live, documentary style: This has kept the real-time musical pressure very intense, making us grow more as a result. "
