I never liked hospitals. Fortunately enough I never had to spend too much time in any of them, but they always seemed to be the worst place a person could recover in. trauma surgery? Sure, give me a hospital. Need to be under for 24 hour with a machine pumping your heart? sure, give me a hospital. But get out of there as soon as you can. That is my view.
It has to do with the fact I have seen more people I know die of complications due to procedures they could avoid, infections that they got in the ward, and other collateral damage type incidents that happened in hospitals.
But , a bed is a bed, and an empty bed is less money in the coffers. We can't have that. Not in a hospital. Soon you will ask us to let people bring in their own medicine at a third of the price from the drugstore down the street. What are you thinking? Socialist…
In old Chinese medicine (not the one that is just a part of the whole health industry system these days.) they had the right idea. Once a year you would go to the doctor for your annual examination, and the doctor gives you some herbs and medicine to take according to the results.
He might ask you to come in for another checkup in three months. And you go home. If you get sick, the doctor comes to you and treats you, because it is his fault. He is supposed to keep you healthy and he failed.
If you look at western medicine it is the other way around. The doctor has absolutely no interest in keeping you healthy. God forbid everybody will be healthy- he will be out of work.
We are not healthy because of the greed of people. Politicians, health administrators, pharmaceutical companies. They don’t WANT you to be healthy.
Do you see how twisted the whole idea is? How sick is this game? Would you ever call a plumber knowing he has no interest to fix things in a permanent or even efficient way because it means less business for him?
For a moment let's stop and do some exercise, just to keep you in good health. One of my favorite exercises is kicking pharmaceutical companies.
Yes, those poor people who slave all day and all night on producing new patented pills investing millions, what am I saying, hundreds of millions in trying to come up with new drugs , and all for the small profit of only tens of billions in the end.
Yes, those saints who make our life better and our penis harder, those angels of medicine who out of pure altruistic motives are developing only medicine that can be sold to the rich sick , while letting all the poor people die of TB or other infections that no one should die from in the twenty first century.
Keeping you sick is a great business plan. You don’t play with your health. This is not a luxury. They are good. Very good. They . You know who I am talking about. Do you really think it is a coincidence that doctors and nurses have worse work conditions now than they did twenty years ago? It is not just the whole privatization frenzy, it is much deeper on the ideological level. Well rested well paid doctors make good decisions and give good treatment that is both effective and long termed. Who on earth want this kind of autrocity happening in a hospital? You MUST be crazy.
Once we get health service instead of health industry we will be allowed to be healthy.
once we get medicine as medicine and not as just another bottom line product we will be allowed to be healthy.
For now? All I can hope for is that at least we go back to a decent health industry and not the sickness industry we are subjected to at the present.
