UNDER THE STRONG SUN

Under the strong sun of a morning new
the truth is hard to swallow now
no shadows hide your fake old shame
your mind in sunshine's clear glass frame
there's no one left to mock and blame
the games don’t matter anyhow
you're left with nothing but the vow
the one you made in your own name
the one you cried when no one came
the one that always stays the same

Under the strong sun of a morning new
the truth is here for all to see
most people fail to understand
they hold onto a life that's bland
too lazy to go through the land
of real love and an open hand
they try to teach you to be free
by selling out what you could be

Under the strong sun of a morning new
you see the defects if you can
you choose to fix or just ignore
you can't escape your basic core
of monkhood or a simple whore
of what you got and nothing more
of what you do, of what you plan
of what it takes to make a man

Under the strong sun of a morning new
you know who's really standing there
it's harder to pretend you don’t
get what it is they really want
the contract in a big clear font
they urge you and in bold face taunt
you lose it all, but they don’t care
so sign on the line if you dare

Under the strong sun of a morning new
most people get insulted but
there is no really choice for one
who knows exactly how it's run
who cares not if you've lost or won
who says it loud when all is done
and as they're served the golden smut
they open mouths and ears they shut

Under the strong sun of a morning new
you see the things that they ignore
most people think you might be mad
when you give up the things you had
that clearly made you feel so sad
when you know good and you know bad
when you don’t play that game no more
and can't accept that golden whore

Under the strong sun of a morning new
when air is clear in dawn's sweet dew
you cannot hide, it's hard to fake
the things that your life truly make
the things that either make or break
you can't shut up, it's hard to take
the shovel-full they throw at you
we must hold strong, the lone brave few

Under the strong sun of a morning new
we have no choice but fight them all
it's up to us, yes, me and you
to stick to what we know is true
and what they never even knew
a life that's straight and not askew
so don’t give up and stand up tall
so keep your eyes on that true ball
lest we give up and down we fall
with nothing left of our poor soul
under the strong sun of a morning new
